Whether you’re a parent noticing early delays, a teacher seeking collaborative support, or a professional looking for specialist input, I can support you, your tamariki and your community, with thoughtful, evidence-based therapy, grounded in clinical experience, and in partnership with you.

Therapy

Developing speech and articulation skills

Speech and articulation are building blocks of clear communication. In short-term, goal-focused blocks of therapy, I can work with you and your learner to strengthen skills like sound production, clarity of speech and confidence in talking. Therapy will feel supportive and practical: I assess needs, set shared goals, and create meaningful activities that carry over into everyday life where it matters.

Developing language skills

Language is how we make meaning, express ideas, and engage with others. My therapy supports understanding and expression of language. This includes vocabulary, sentence structure, listening skills and social use of language. Sessions are engaging, tailored to individual learning styles, and centred on real-world contexts that matter most.

Workshops and consultancies

Use of Non-verbal communication and Key Word Sign

Communication isn’t only spoken words. It includes gestures, signs, visual symbols and shared meaning. I offer workshops that empower whānau, educators and professionals to use non-verbal communication strategies and Key Word Sign with confidence. These practical sessions include hands-on practice, real examples, and strategies you can use straight away to support communication in everyday routines.

Creating communication accessible environments

Everyone deserves to be understood and to participate fully. In consultancies, I explore how environments (home, classroom, early childhood and community settings) can better support people with communication differences. Together we identify simple, effective changes that reduce barriers, foster connection, and help individuals be successful communicators in the places where they live, learn and work.

Getting started

Begin by sending an enquiry email. We’ll arrange a brief phone call to talk through your concerns and goals. If we decide to proceed, you’ll receive confirmation details, an intake form, and session information before we meet.
Sessions are collaborative, practical, and tailored to your child or family’s needs.
Learn more about the full process.

Location

I am based in Thames and I can visit you at home, school, or community setting. You choose where therapy happens. Therapy works best when it feels natural, and focused on your goals.
I always recommend including the whole team, family, carers, kaiako/teachers and other professionals, in any communication intervention. This collaborative approach ensures everyone is working together with consistency, clarity and purpose.

What I do

I deliver speech and language therapy services in Thames. My area of expertise is in working with children and adults with developmental communication needs. This often means working with people who use little or no speech. My therapy includes multimodal communication tools that go beyond spoken language, such as gestures, signs, symbols and alternative communication systems.
Whether you’re noticing early signs of delay, seeking strategies for daily communication, or supporting someone with complex needs, I offer collaborative planning, hands-on therapy, and practical tools you can use every day.

Why it matters

Communication isn’t something we do in isolation. It’s how we connect, belong and participate in the moments that make up life. When communication feels hard or confusing, it can affect learning, relationships, confidence and wellbeing.
I’m here to help you understand what’s happening, find a path forward that feels right for you or your learner, and build skills that truly make a difference in life outside therapy.

At Thames Speech & Language, I understand that communication is essential to connection, belonging and participation in life.
