Communication support
At Thames Speech and Language, I believe communication is essential for learning, growth and connection. It is a fundamental human right, yet not everyone has equal access to it, particularly those with communication disabilities. My mission is to bridge that gap and empower individuals through effective, meaningful communication support.
Kia ora, I’m Marion.
I’m a qualified Speech-Language Therapist with over 12 years’ experience supporting children and adults across Australia and New Zealand. My background spans disability services, early intervention, leadership and project roles, but connection has always been at the heart of my work.
I have a strong interest in early intervention and evidence-based support for children with communication disabilities, alongside extensive experience working with adults with complex communication needs.
My approach honours all forms of communication, including speech, Key Word Sign and aided AAC. I work in partnership with families, recognising that communication develops in everyday moments, at the dinner table, in the playground, in the classroom, at the beach, during story time, and in the wider community.
My aim is to create a practice that feels welcoming and collaborative. As both a clinician and a parent raising a family in Thames, I am committed to advancing inclusive communication within our local community. Through evidence-based practice, partnership and education, I aim to support individuals and families while also contributing to a more accessible, communication-inclusive Thames.
